*The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 7-3:30 p.m.*Job Summary/ObjectiveThe Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and related equipment to support daily warehouse activities, including loading and unloading shipments, staging product, and ensuring accurate inbound and outbound documentation. This role works closely with team members and warehouse leads to move, store, and organize product across multiple warehouse locations while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, communicates effectively, and is committed to upholding all safety, quality, and GMP standards.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Perform Plant Forklift Operator duties as assigned.Communicate and work closely with team members, Warehouse Team lead, and LeadOperator to accomplish goals.On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklift or other job specificequipment.Perform weekly forklift, scissor lift and pallet jack PM’s as assigned.Re-stack pallets, pull outbound loads, stage and prepare paperwork accordingly.Put away new production and record accurately.Accurately check in and load driver/truck including verification of load number, schedule, truck weight, pallet numbers, bags counts, etc.Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas including the drive in racking at Alameda warehouseEfficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers or other shipping containers.Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage and perform trailer inspections on iPadVerify cleanliness of pallets to be loaded and clean as necessary.Communicate with Plant Forklift Operator to coordinate any needed trailer moves.Move between the Alameda and 1013 warehouses as necessary.Fill in for the Plant Forklift position as needed to cover absences, vacationsAbility to access forms and perform all system functions associated with day to day job duties including but not limited to the AS400 and ETQ systems.Perform cleaning of racks according to rotation.Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.Adhere to all SOP’s and HACCP guidelines.Adhere to all UDA quality, safety, and GMP policies and procedures, reporting anynonconformity.Other duties as required.*Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Travel Requirements None Minimal Moderate HighQualifications:General Skills & Abilities needed to complete job successfully:Ability to safely drive and operate forkliftMust be able to work 12-hour shifts (primarily night shift)Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instruction in EnglishRequires ability to work with minimal direction and by self at times.Requires ability to manage time effectivelyRequires ability to communicate clearly with warehouse co-workers frequentlyExperience: (required)Must have at least one year of previous experience, preferably operating a forklift or other heavy machineryEducation/Certifications: (if n/a is applicable please note “N/A)RequiredPreferredEducation (degree/certifications)High School Diploma or Educational EquivalentFork truck certificationWork Environment & DemandsPhysical and environmental demands for this position are indicated below: (check all that are applicable)Physical Demands:Requires ability to sit and drive a forklift for prolonged periods of time.Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift and carry items up to 55lbs.Requires ability to pull down vertically on chain multiple times during shift to open dock doors.Requires ability to climb on and off a forklift multiple times during shift.Requires ability to safely operate equipment.Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings.Requires ability to hear and speak.Other DutiesThe above job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by employees assigned to this job title.
