Job summary

Abacus Corporation, a family-owned staffing leader, is seeking a forklift operator for day and night shifts in the Pittston, PA area. You will responsibly maneuver sit-down and high-reach forklifts, load/unload materials, and ensure safety and accuracy in pallet handling.

Requirements include 2–3 years forklift experience, English literacy, and strong teamwork. Overtime opportunities are available; pay is $18/hour day shift and $19/hour night shift.

Qualifications

Stable work history and reliability.
Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail.
Experience operating sit-down and high-reach forklifts (2–3 years).
Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
Understanding of health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Operate forklift to load/unload materials.
Move palletized materials around site per supervisor directions.
Ensure loads are secured before departure.
Inspect equipment prior to use and complete checklists.
Communicate issues or damages to supervisor promptly.

Objective of this role:

To successfully maneuver the forklift assigned to complete the task at hand in a safe and efficient manner.
To ensure accuracy while counting/ scanning product.
Safety is always the NUMBER 1 priority.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to warehouse supervisor
Loading and unloading materials from trailers, machinery, racking, etc.
Moving palletized material around the site/ facility following direction or instruction to standard operational practices or leadership.
Checking that loads are secured before departure.
Checking trailers to ensure they are chalked outside and locked into the dock door before entering trailers for use.
Report any product that is damaged BEFORE unloading to warehouse supervisor
Report any product that is damaged DURING loading if it was our mistake to warehouse supervisor
Performing equipment checks PRIOR to use and signing off on checklist that it was completed successfully and accurately by user.
Reporting any damage to forklift PRIOR to use.
Following written or verbal instructions and record keeping of material as needed.
Always adhering to health and safety regulations.
Forklift driver may be asked to jump off forklift and be used elsewhere for other tasks related to the warehouse. Must be a team player.
