Job summary

Custom Building Products in Perth Amboy, NJ is hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for the 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 7:15 AM - 3:45 PM). This position offers overtime as needed and a potential raise of up to $1.00/hr after 90 days.

Responsibilities include using forklifts to ship and receive products, following schedules, and maintaining safety and quality standards. You will work with Production, Maintenance and other departments, with opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and impeccable attendance.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and complex instructions.
• Proficient forklift and walkie rider operation; driving test will be given.

• Operate forklift/walkie rider to pick, ship and receive products timely.
• Receive instructions and schedules from plant supervision.
• Follow safety protocols and keep a clean, orderly work area.
• Move material with sit-down forklift and ensure product quality.
• Lift up to 50 pounds as required.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced FORKLIFT OPERATOR to join our Perth Amboy, NJ plant. This is a 1st shift position, Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM - 3:45 PM, with overtime as needed. We offer competitive benefits and salary, plus up to $1.00/hr increase after 90 days. You will be responsible for ensuring our customers' satisfaction by shipping and/or receiving products timely and accurately. You will also work closely with all departments in the facility, including Production, Maintenance, and more. Our Forklift Operators are not sitting on a lift throughout the shift - There is frequent movement which includes lifting. You will work in a team environment with an opportunity to advance in your career with Custom Building Products.

• Retrieve or put away material using a sit-down industrial forklift.
• Ensure that all finished product meets quality standard.
• Ready and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
