Overview

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Operator ensures the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and may also perform order filler or checker duties. This role involves operating sit-down and/or clamp forklifts.

Responsibilities

1. Stack and store merchandise using forklifts and related equipment.
2. Unload inbound shipments safely and transfer products to storage areas.
3. Pick and prepare products for shipment.
4. Ensure accurate loading and shipping of products.
5. Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards.
6. Move products from staging or storage into trailers.
7. Operate all equipment safely and according to work methods.
8. Maintain records for inventory control and security.
9. Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts.
10. Ensure proper stock rotation.
11. Use RF scanning equipment to verify inventory accuracy.
12. Have basic safety knowledge for operating equipment and report safety concerns promptly.
13. Report inventory discrepancies and assist in their resolution.
14. Complete inspection forms prior to operating equipment.
15. Possess Excel and general computer skills.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
2. Minimum 3 months of forklift or warehouse equipment experience.
3. Ability to stand/walk for 10-12 hours and lift/pull 50 lbs.
4. Comfort with frequent bending, lifting, and reaching.
5. Ability to work in variable noise, lighting, and temperature conditions.
6. Availability for irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
7. Must obtain NFI forklift certification.
8. Attention to detail, customer service skills, and basic math skills.
