Job summary

Lignetics, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our warehouse and production teams in a full-time on-site role. You will operate gasoline, propane or electric forklifts, move pallets, and ensure all inbound/outbound loads are properly documented.

Key tasks include pre-shift checks, stacking materials neatly, maintaining a clean warehouse, and following safety protocols. This role requires physical stamina, eye-hand-foot coordination, and adherence to PPE and training

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be able to pass the company forklift training.
  • Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time and multi-task.
  • Will be lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
  • Requires reading and interpreting scales and basic math calculations.
  • Requires mechanical aptitude for maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operating a forklift in the warehouse and production areas of the plant.
  • Prior to shift start, ensure propane tanks are filled and forklift equipment is properly blown out and all fluids checked.
  • Grease fittings if needed.
  • All raw materials are to be stacked in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Warehouse swept daily and trash bins emptied when full.
  • Ensure proper paperwork (packing slips, weight tickets) before loading trucks; stacks verified by two people.
  • Packaging slips must be attached to all loads and packing slip enclosed.
  • Load seals attached to all trucks; plywood stacked during teardown of pods.
  • When plywood rack is full, band and stack for later use.
  • Re-stacks and bags returned to system must be logged daily.
  • Seat belts worn; operate lift at safe speeds.
  • Dispose of junk pallets properly and keep warehouse clean at shift end.
  • Assist other production areas as needed; move and wrap completed products.
  • Assist Shift Leads to start/stop pellet mills; perform other duties as assigned.

Forklift Operator Job Description:

Operates and drives a gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric-powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices, such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel-hook, fork-grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in warehouse, storage yard, or factory. Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials, or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area.
