Job description

The Forklift Operator will be responsible for performing various duties in the warehouse in a fast-paced lean environment to include: receiving and put-away of all inbound receipts, shipping, and picking of products to support Plant operations. Maintain inventory accuracy. Monitor coolers/freezer temperatures. Responsible for keeping warehouse area organized. Must have stand‑up forklift and RF scan gun experience.

Shift Schedule

• 1st shift: Monday - Thursday 4am - 2:30pm.
• 2nd shift: Monday - Thursday 2:30pm - 12:30am.
• Weekend shift: Friday - Sunday 4am - 5:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jack, forklift and by hand as needed.
• Operate a stand‑up forklift.
• Use an RF scan gun to track shipments and inventory.
• Safely climb in and out of trailers.
• Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently).
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g., pallets, straps, rope).
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on a loading dock that may be below freezing and slippery.
• Safely reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary to perform job duties.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Adhere to company safety policies.
• Frequent contact with co-workers and supervisors in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment.
• Safely work in cold weather conditions.

Physical & Safety Requirements

• 2-4 years prior forklift experience.
• Experience operating a stand‑up forklift and using an RF scan gun.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to speak/read/write in English fluently.
• Good basic math skills.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen.
• Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Able to perform repetitive movements.
• Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot).
