The Forklift Operator will be responsible for performing various duties in the warehouse in a fast-paced lean environment, including but not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Receiving and putting away all inbound receipts.
- Loading and shipping all outbound pallets.
- Picking and loading pallets for shuttle to the Ohio Kitchen.
- Monitoring inventory levels of all items in designated Pick Line support locations and refilling before inventory is depleted.
- Dropping, moving, and putting away quality-impacted pallets as directed by Tech Services.
- Monitoring the temperature of all areas of the warehouse and immediately notifying a Supervisor if temperatures are out of tolerance.
- Keeping the warehouse clean, neat, and organized.
- Scanning all moved products timely and accurately so inventory records are always current and accurate.
- Being available to work overtime if business volumes change.
- Sorting, handling, loading, and unloading palletized and non-palletized freight using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jack, forklift, and by hand as needed.
- Utilizing mobile handheld devices for scanning product.
- Safely climbing in and out of trailers.
- Lifting freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently).
- Securing freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g., pallets, straps, rope).
- Safely walking and standing for extended periods of time on a loading dock that may be below freezing and slippery.
- Reaching, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting, and kneeling as necessary to perform job duties.
- Verifying and completing required documentation and reports.
- Adhering to company safety policies.
- Treating all co-workers with respect and being professional at all times.
- Safely working in cold weather conditions.
- Offer of employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug screen and background check, where permitted by law.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English fluently.
- Good basic math skills.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen.
- Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Able to perform repetitive movements.
- Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot).
- Stand-up forklift or high-low forklift experience.
Schedule
Saturday night through Wednesday night.
