Job summary

Canfor operates a sawmill in Urbana, AR and is seeking a Forklift Operator. You will safely move lumber and materials, load/unload trucks, and keep yards organized while following safety protocols.

The role supports production flow and requires 1–2 years of forklift experience, with emphasis on heavy-duty equipment and teamwork in a physically demanding environment. This is a permanent full-time position with Monday through Friday work.

Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years of experience operating forklifts, with heavy-duty forklift experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of forklift operation and safety practices.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
• Keen eye for detail to ensure accurate placement and secure handling.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate the forklift to move lumber and materials around the sawmill.
• Load and unload trucks with incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring secure placement.
• Organize and stack materials in designated areas to maintain a clean and orderly yard.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on the forklift to keep it in good working order.
• Work closely with production staff and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
