Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Forklift Driver in Mission, TX to move and store materials, operate industrial power trucks, and manage shipments in accordance with our procedures and standards.

You will load and unload freight, verify counts, inspect for damages, use the ERP system for receiving and shipping tasks, and participate in inventories. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and collaboration within a global, tech-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Physically load, unload freight, inspect counts on product against paperwork and note shortages or damages.
  • Inspect incoming shipments and reject damaged items and notify.
  • Use the system for receiving, warehousing, repack, work orders, shipping, inquiries and report generation.
  • Prepare bills of lading and maintain documentation of goods shipped.
  • Participate in annual physical inventories and count assigned areas.
  • Daily verify material inventory levels and perform cycle counts.
  • Review and request Kanban material from JITK vendors weekly.
  • Review warehouse transfers in systems, scan material to racks, upload data and verify inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate movements and disposal of scrap units per policy.
  • Ensure freight carriers and shipments are processed promptly.
  • Comply with forklift safety procedures and certification requirements.
  • Maintain integrity of materials, products and installations.
  • Complete verification checklist prior to forklift use.
  • Ensure smooth, safe, and accurate operation of the facility.
  • Perform tasks per SBD procedures and contribute to a healthy, safe work environment.
  • Maintain area housekeeping daily and support other duties as needed.

Job description

Summary:

The Forklift Driver is responsible for the movement and proper storage of all Materials/Products, operate and manage industrial power trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries, as defined by procedures and according to SBD's values and standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but not limited to.


  • Physically load, unload freight, inspect and verify counts on product against the related paperwork and denote any shortages or damages.

  • Examines incoming shipments and rejects and notify damaged items.

  • Utilize the system for all functions related to receiving, manifesting, warehousing, repack, work order completion, shipping, inquiries and report generation.

  • Prepares bills of lading and maintains documentation of good shipped.

  • Participate in annual physical inventories performing accurate counting of assigned area(s) or racks.

  • Daily verification of the appropriate level of material inventory in assigned areas and performing cycle counts periodically.

  • Review and request Kanban material from JITK vendors in a weekly basis.

  • Review all warehouse transfers in systems, scan material to corresponding rack/stage locations, upload information in system and verify inventory accuracy.

  • Coordinate the movements and disposal of all scrap units in accordance to policy.

  • Ensure that freight carriers and their shipments are processed in a timely manner.

  • Comply with Safety Procedures and rules related with forklift operation and based on Certification.

  • Preserve his/her and coworkers' integrity as well as the integrity of the materials, products and installations from the company.

  • Complete the verification checklist prior to start using the forklift.

  • Ensure smooth, safe and accurate operation of the facility.

  • Performs all tasks as per SBD Procedures.

  • Promote and maintain a healthy and safe work environment.

  • Maintain the housekeeping of the area in a daily basis.

  • Other duties assigned to meet the business needs.
