Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. in Idaho is seeking a Forklift Operator for a day shift on our dock. You will efficiently sort, load and unload freight using a forklift or pallet jack, while following safety policies.

The role includes benefits from day one health insurance, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off. This position is not climate-controlled and requires flexibility to work different shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Basic math skills and ability to calculate with or without a calculator.
• Available to work days, evenings, nights and weekends as needed.
• Preferred: dock/warehouse experience, forklift experience in freight/LTL, and ability to load/unload trailers.

Responsibilities

• Sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight.
• Operate forklift and pallet jack; use tools to secure freight inside trailers.
• Follow safety policies and use handheld devices to scan shipments.
• Work on a dock not climate-controlled for extended periods.

What you’ll need to succeed as a Forklift Operator at XPO

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Able to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator
• Available to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends

Preferred qualifications:

• Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry
• Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment
• Experience loading and unloading trailers
• Strong attention to detail and desire to succeed

Pay, benefits and more:

• Pay starts at $22.27/hour
• Day Shift, Day/Hours: 6am-2pm, M-F

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight
• Use appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jack and forklift
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies
• Work in a safe, efficient manner, adhering to company safety policies
• Use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments
• Work on a dock that is not climate-controlled for extended periods

Forklift Operators are required to:

• Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally greater than 70 lbs.)
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery
• Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary
