The Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) Operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift to support manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are properly loaded, unloaded, and moved throughout the facility. This role plays a critical part in maintaining efficient workflow and organization within the warehouse while adhering to all safety protocols. Additionally, the operator ensures that production areas remain stocked and inventory is properly maintained to support operational needs.
Able to obtain forklift certification upon hire. Minimum of 1 year of forklift operation in a manufacturing or warehouse setting preferred. Strong understanding of safe material handling procedures and workplace safety standards. Ability to interpret work instructions, material specifications, and staging instructions accurately. Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Effective verbal and written communication to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
Exposure to a manufacturing environment with wood dust, noise, and moving equipment. Requires frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, and prolonged standing throughout the shift. Must be adaptable to schedule changes and willing to assist in other areas of the facility as needed. Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are met efficiently.
