Job summary

Staffmark is hiring a Forklift Operator in Lockport, IL. You will operate multiple types of forklifts to load, unload and move furniture and other materials throughout the warehouse, with a 6:00 AM–2:30 PM shift on weekdays.

The role emphasizes safety, inventory accuracy, and efficient material handling. Experience with RF scanners and WMS is a plus; physical lifting up to 50 pounds is required; forklift certification is beneficial.

Location: Lockport, IL
Pay Rate: $19.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday/ 1st 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Looking for Forklift Operator jobs in Lockport where your equipment skills keep warehouse operations moving? Job Duties

• Safely lift, move, load, and reposition heavy furniture throughout the warehouse.
• Operate a cherry picker/order picker to retrieve and move products.
• Operate a reach truck for material handling and product movement.
• Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently.
• Assist with general warehouse and material-handling duties as needed.

Experience Requirements

• Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to load, unload, move, stack, and organize palletized materials.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and safe equipment operation.
• Ability to accurately identify inventory, shipping documentation, and storage locations.
• Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and commitment to workplace safety.
• Computer skills are a plus
• Ability to perform physical warehouse work throughout the shift.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or shipping and receiving is preferred.
• Current forklift certification or experience operating multiple classes of powered industrial equipment is beneficial.
• Experience using RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), or inventory software is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate safe operating practices, teamwork, reliability, and productivity are well positioned for success as a Forklift Operator.
• Previous experience operating a cherry picker, reach truck, and sit-down forklift preferred
• Comfortable lifting and moving heavy furniture.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb on and off powered industrial equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, move, or reposition materials weighing up to 50 pounds when required.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts in busy warehouse and manufacturing environments.
• Ability to maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, and inventory while operating powered industrial vehicles.

What You Will Do
