Job summary

Reily Foods Company in Knoxville, TN is hiring a Materials Handler to keep our distribution center running safely, efficiently, and on schedule. You will move finished goods, load and unload trucks, and verify product quantities while supporting production, shipping, and receiving teams.

You’ll operate forklifts and RF scanners, follow FIFO/FEFO, maintain accurate inventory, and participate in safety trainings and paperwork.

Qualifications

• Warehouse or distribution experience preferred.
• Experience using an RF scan gun or similar tech.
• Basic math and inventory counting skills.
• Strong detail orientation and accuracy.
• Safety-focused with strict procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
• Move finished goods, packaging materials, and supplies throughout the facility.
• Load and unload trucks; ensure safe, accurate handling.
• Stage materials for production, shipping, and receiving.
• Verify quantities, labels, lot numbers, and product information.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and report discrepancies or damage.
• Complete paperwork and system transactions related to material movement.
• Follow FIFO/FEFO and other inventory controls.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe; adhere to GMP and OSHA.
• Communicate with Production, Warehouse, Distribution, and Quality teams.
• Adapt to changing priorities to keep operations moving.

Keep things moving! As a Material Handler, you’ll play an important role in keeping our distribution center running safely, efficiently, and on schedule. You’ll make sure materials and products get where they need to go - helping our production and distribution teams deliver the products our customers know and love.

Shifts Available - Monday - Friday

• 1st Shift 6:00am - 2:30pm
• 2nd Shift 4:00pm - 12:30am

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
• Move finished goods, packaging materials, and supplies throughout the facility
• Load and unload trucks while ensuring products and materials are handled safely and accurately
• Stage materials and products for production, shipping, and receiving
• Verify quantities, labels, lot numbers, and product information for accuracy
• Maintain accurate inventory and promptly report discrepancies or damaged products
• Complete required paperwork, system transactions, and material movement documentation
• Follow FIFO/FEFO and other inventory control practices as required
• Keep work areas, aisles, and equipment clean, organized, and safe
• Follow all company, GMP, food safety, quality, and OSHA/safety requirements
• Communicate effectively with Production, Warehouse, Distribution, Quality, and other team members
• Help keep the operation moving by responding to changing priorities and production needs
• Perform other duties as needed to support the Distribution Center team

Qualifications

What Makes a Successful Material Handler?

• Previous warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, forklift, or material-handling experience
• Experience using a RF scan gun; comfortable using technology and learning inventory or warehouse systems
• Basic math and inventory / cycle counting skills
• Strong attention to detail and takes pride in accuracy
• Puts safety first and follows procedures every time
• Can work in a fast-paced, physically active environment
• Works well with others and communicates clearly
• Comfortable working independently and takes ownership of assigned tasks
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adjust when priorities change
• Has a positive, team-first attitude and is willing to jump in and help
• Punctual and dependable; willing and able to work overtime as needed to support business demands
