Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Forklift Operator in the Indianapolis area. The role involves loading and unloading trucks, material handling, and maintaining a safe, efficient warehouse environment. Candidates should have at least 1 year of warehouse experience, be able to operate forklifts and RF scanners, and lift up to 50 pounds. English proficiency is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timeliness, packaging, and systems work are completed accurately.
• Identify and annotate overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D).
• Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks.
• Read and follow detailed instructions in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment following TSA and OSHA guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Forklift Operator oversees loading & unloading materials utilizing a hand truck, reach truck, or forklift. They are to maintain a clean and safe work environment and identify any discrepancies in receiving loads against manifest.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing manifest to pull route, stage freight, and assist Drivers to load and unload trucks

• Previous warehouse experience preferred - 1 year experience
• Must be able to use forklifts, pallet jacks and banding/shrink wrap material
• Experience using a RF scan gun required
• Previous forklift certifications preferred
• Must be able to work overtime as needed, occasional weekends
• Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions well
• Must have the ability to work well with others
• High attention to detail required
• Must have the ability to work well with others with little supervision
• Must be able to lift 50+lbs. unassisted
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Position requires employees to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands, reach, bend and lift objects above their head. Employees must be able to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds unassisted and use pallet jacks and forklifts.

Pay Range

$20- $21 per hour

• The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
