Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor/Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The Forklift Operator is responsible for the daily execution and handling of customer orders and shipments, unloading inbound shipments safely and moving product to storage locations. This position is responsible for ensuring that product is stacked efficiently and placed in the appropriate area. This position requires high attention to detail with ability to follow SOPs. This role will be responsible for counting, picking, receiving,and completing paperwork for order fulfillmentand inventoryput away.This position will be utilizing various forms of equipment to fulfill warehousing activities. We are looking for sharp, driven team members with excellent attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows warehouse operational procedures including sorting, loading/unloading activities, shipment processing and documentation, manifesting, packaging, and sending shipment status information.
  • Pulls, packs products based on daily orders.
  • Operates a forklift (or other equipment) to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
  • Responsible for maintaining safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties.
  • Meets/exceed productivity goals.
  • When putting away inventory, ensures product is counted, stored, compared against inbounding paperwork, inspects inbound shipments for damage, infestation and production dates.
  • Reports shortages, overages, damage, and mis-shipments to supervisor.
  • Reviews outbound orders for accuracy as directed.
  • Compares the quantity, quality, labeling and consignee address to the customer order to ensure all outgoing shipments are complete and correct.
  • Safely and efficiently operates machinery and equipment as required and assist in the unloading or loading of product moving into or out of warehouse.
  • Completes cycle counts and inventory audit activities as directed.
  • Maintains clean, neat, and orderly work areas and operates in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Experience with the service, production, or support role having greater responsibility to perform all (or most) of the standard work within the function.
  • High school degree or GED equivalent.
  • One year of experience in related area of responsibility.
  • Experience leveraging technology to perform daily tasks, including familiarity with MS Office applications web navigation & basic hardware functions.
  • Proven track record of taking initiative to accomplish tasks in creative ways with a sense of urgency and assertiveness.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.

PHYSICAL OR MENTAL DEMANDS:

Most of the time spent in this role will be in a warehouse setting. This can mean long hours performing non-sedentary work (on the floor, walking, operating equipment, etc.). This will require the ability to see, hear, write, stand, walk, bend, and be always alert. The operation of various forms of warehouse equipment and/or lifting to 50 lbs. consistently throughout the day may be required depending on the business needs.
