Job summary

LKQ Corporation in Houston, TX is hiring a forklift operator to pick, stock, and load auto parts. You will operate a forklift or order picker, ensure safety, and support inventory processes in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities include moving parts, packing items, and following shipping documents and safety guidelines. Prior forklift or automotive experience is preferred; HS diploma required. Benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior forklift experience preferred.
• Prior automotive experience preferred.
• Able to perform basic math and unit conversions.
• Able to read packaging/shipping documents and safety guidelines.
• Follow standard procedures with directions from supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Operate order picker or forklift to pick and stock parts.
• Pack, check, and load products on/off trailers and pallets.
• Move parts around the facility using pallets and crates.
• Read and interpret packaging, shipping documents and safety guidelines.
• Maintain inventory accuracy per control procedures.
• Follow safety rules and wear PPE as required.

Ensure the safety harness is securely in place while operating the equipment.Pick, pack, check, and load products accurately on/off trailers and to and from designated areas of the facility.Move parts and other materials around the facility using pallets and crates.Stack loads in correct storage bays, following inventory-control instructions.Place parts into inventory Ability to read and understand packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines. Assume other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNot responsible for supervising employees.Minimum RequirementsEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma/GED.Preferred RequirementsPrior forklift experience.Prior automotive experience.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Basic computer skills.Basic messages communicated orally. Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions. May regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE). May be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
