Job summary

48forty Solutions is seeking a Forklift Operator in Houston to move pallets and materials, support production, and assist loading/unloading customer trailers. The role includes hand-sorting and pallet repairs on a 3rd shift schedule.

The position offers hourly pay and requires safety‑driven work habits in a warehouse environment, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• 1–3 years of forklift experience.
• Experience in warehouse/logistics or related trades strongly preferred.
• Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.

Job description

Forklift Operator – move pallets and other materials through the different areas of the warehouse, supporting production requirements, as well as loading and unloading customer trailers. The role also includes hand‑sorting pallets and repairing damaged wooden pallets. This position is essential to the success of our Relogistics site.

Hourly Pay: $18.00/hr

Shift: 3rd Shift Friday – Sunday 5:00 am – 5:00 pm

Location: 8230 Plummer St Bldg 3 Suite 200 Houston, TX 77029

Responsibilities

• Move sorted pallet stacks to appropriate staging area using Relogistics forklift equipment
• Operate forklifts with extreme care, adhering to company safety procedures at all times
• Hand‑sort wooden pallets, when required
• Repair wooden pallets using a nail gun, when required
• Maintain a clean & safe working environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Forklift certification preferred
• 1–3 years of forklift experience
• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction strongly preferred
• Willingness to work in a labor‑intensive environment
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Willing to work overtime as needed

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Ability to work in extreme conditions including heat, cold, and air particulates
• Repetitively adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift for entire shifts of varying lengths
• The noise level depends on location
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and color vision
• May be required to lift pallets by hand, each weighing between 50 lbs. to 75 lbs
