JOB DETAILS

Base Pay: $22.50 per hour, plus $1.75 per hour shift differential

Weekend Shift: 7 am-7 pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate loads and operates a network of machinery to blend raw materials into compounds for extrusion. Maintains consistency of raw materials from batch to batch and ensures a clean flow of materials from railcars, silos, and hoppers. Monitors the blend network for proper operation and trains in the use of computer programs utilized by the department.

  1. Ensure appropriate raw materials are selected.
  2. Operate and monitor the computerized blending network.
  3. Analyze printouts to ensure output meets or exceeds standards.
  4. Adjust systems to correct inconsistencies and maximize production.
  5. Unload railcars and ensure outflow valves are properly adjusted.
  6. Prepare railcars and process related paperwork.
  7. Notify Shipping of railcar and compartment usage.
  8. Ensure all blending equipment is in sequence and working properly.
  9. Maintain a clean and orderly work area daily.
  10. Perform preventive maintenance and report abnormalities.
  11. Assist maintenance as needed.
  12. Enter data regarding operations and send shift reports.
  13. Stage and stock micro-ingredients daily.
  14. Restock and change totes before shift ends.
  15. Operate forklift and perform safety checks.
  16. Perform other related duties as required.
  17. Conduct month-end inventories.
  18. Participate in plant safety programs.
  19. Perform Production Associate 1 functions as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 90 days proficiency in a computer automated environment.
  • Proficient in blend and material handling operations.
  • Ability to perform Material Handling 1 and 2 positions preferred.
  • Ability to learn computer systems.
  • Good manual dexterity and accurate record keeping.
  • Ability to operate forklift safely.
  • Good communication, organization, and color differentiation skills.
  • Knowledge of computers and inventory processes.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs continually and team lift 51-100 lbs.
  • Exposure to manufacturing environment hazards.
  • Physical demands include walking, standing, pulling, heavy lifting, and climbing.
  • Use of safety equipment and adherence to safety policies required.
