Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. is seeking a warehouse associate to operate forklifts and handle loading, unloading, and staging of product in a distribution environment. The role requires accurate record keeping, adherence to SOPs, and teamwork in a fast-paced facility.

You will move materials, receive supplies, and ensure GMP and safety practices are followed. The position offers full-time hours and opportunities for process improvement within a dairy product processing setting.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma preferred and forklift certification advantageous.
  • Warehouse/production experience preferred.
  • May require forklift certification during employment.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload products from trailers.
  • Distribute pallets from palletizer to trailers and staging areas.
  • Stage materials for production.
  • Move products and materials within the facility.
  • Receive materials for storage and supply packaging as needed.
  • Maintain pallet supply for palletizer.
  • Rotate packaging using FIFO.
  • Complete paperwork clearly and accurately per SOPs.
  • Document information in accordance with SOPs.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities as part of continuous improvement.
  • Report food safety/quality issues to management immediately.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and comply with regulations.

Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE

Operate gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices, such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel 'hook fork' grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in a warehouse, storage yard, or facility.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute the loading and unloading of products in trailers
  • Distribute pallets of product from the palletizer to distribution trailers and staging areas
  • Stage materials for production
  • Move product and materials within facility (plant and/or cooler)
  • Receive materials for warehouse storageSupply packaging material, cartons, and hulls to line as needed
  • Maintain pallet supply for palletizer
  • Rotate packaging and ingredients using FIFO (First In - First Out)
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required information
  • Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's
  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes
  • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Warehouse, production, or general work experience preferred
  • Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment

  • Able to effectively work in a team environment
  • Able to legibly write entries for record keeping
  • Able to use company computer systems
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
