Job Description

AZZ has an exciting 1st shift opportunity for a Forklift Operator at our Chelsea facility. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the receipt and shipment of materials, supplies, and products. The role involves working primarily outdoors in the yard with an enclosed forklift/spotter truck, and requires the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Receive goods, verify orders, and inspect the condition of goods.
2. Move products to and from storage, production areas, and the loading dock using a forklift.
3. Scale incoming and outgoing loads on the truck scale.
4. Upload photos and documents into our system.
5. Coordinate outgoing shipments with shipping and receiving personnel.
6. Verify identifying information such as counts, weights, measurements against BOLs, invoices, and orders.
7. Perform daily inspections of equipment.
8. Follow all necessary processes and procedures in AZZ's truck driver policy.
9. Forklift experience is preferred but not necessary.
10. Position will cross-train to various other roles within production.

Qualifications

1. 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
2. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and costs; familiarity with hand tools and equipment is preferred.
3. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
4. Certified forklift operator is preferred.

Minimum Education

High School diploma or equivalent is helpful.
