Job summary

US Foods is seeking a DAY Forklift Operator to join its team in a fast-paced distribution environment. The role focuses on transporting palletized product, replenishing slots, and upholding safety and accuracy across dock-to-warehouse operations.

Ideal candidates have forklift experience, ability to read/write and perform basic math, and familiarity with Voxware commands; training and overtime are provided, with benefits starting day one.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Related experience: certification for Material Handling Equipment; forklift experience preferred.
• Able to read/write; basic math; understand Voxware commands.

Responsibilities

• Transport pallet loads from dock to assigned warehouse slot using powered equipment; ensure pallets are secure.
• Replenish pick slots from reserve to maintain inventory for night shift.
• Perform safety checks on battery, brakes, lift controls, etc.
• Record all product, equipment, and warehouse damage.
• Keep aisles clean by removing debris from floor/racks.
• Work in cooler (35°F-45°F) and freezer (-10°F to +10°F), company apparel provided.

Main Ingredients of the Job

As a US FOODS® Forklift Operator you will be critical to the US FOODS® team and one of the important faces of our organization Your efforts are the foundation that defines US FOODS® success based on our pillars of cultural beliefs, work ethic, collaborative spirit, and service.

• Transports pallet loads of product from the dock to the correct warehouse slot using powered industrial equipment and ensures all pallets are secure in designated slots to avoid damage or injury when the product is selected.
• Replenishes pick slots with products from reserve slots to maintain inventory levels for night shift selection.
• Performs operations and safety checks, including battery, brakes, lift controls, and fire extinguisher.
• Records all product, equipment, and warehouse damage.
• Maintains the cleanliness of aisles by removing any debris from the floor and racks.
• Work continually in cooler (35°F- 45°F) & freezer (-10°F to +10°F), company apparel provided

What You Bring To The Table

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Related Experience: Job‑related certification for Material Handling Equipment; Prior Selector and/or Forklift experience is preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Able to read and write legibly; basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide); must be able to understand Voxware commands.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $21.00 and $26.00. As applicable, this role may also receive overtime compensation.
