Job summary

Schweid & Sons in Carlstadt, NJ is seeking a warehouse associate to accurately pick, count, label, and rack frozen product in a cold environment. You will operate a forklift or power jack, read work orders, and move goods to fulfill orders.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and complying with GMP, USDA, and OSHA policies. High school diploma or GED preferred; forklift certification is required.

Qualifications

• Read, write, and perform basic math to meet order specifications.
• Work under pressure in a cold, freezer environment.
• Forklift certified and able to operate safely.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Follow GMP, USDA, OSHA policies and maintain attendance.

Job description

This position is generally responsible for the accurate picking, counting, labeling, & racking of product in a cold freezer environment. This position requires regular and repetitive lifting of up to 50 pounds and stacking product to a pallet of up to 6 feet.

Specific Accountabilities

• Move goods from production areas to freezer/cooler by using forklift or power jacks.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments & pick frozen goods to orders accurately.
• Scan inventory into racks
• Label all inventory
• Keep work area clean & safe at all times
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Complies with all Company and Federal Policies, Procedures and Regulations

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and do basic math
• Must be able to work under pressure and in a cold warehouse environment
• Must be Forklift certified
• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Ability to work independently and as a team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given and standard accepted practices
• Must be in compliance with Schweid & Sons policies and GMP procedures
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with GMP, USDA, OSHA
• Must maintain regular and punctual attendance as well as work overtime as needed
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
