GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

Operate forklift safely inside warehouses and receiving yards. Load and unload vans and flatbeds. Issue packaging and raw products to production following FIFO rules and maintaining trace documentation.

Required Skills

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES

• Drive and operate forklift safely.


• Pass company written and practical forklift tests.


• Inspect arriving loads for seal integrity, contaminants, damage, and temperature.


• Load and unload vans and flatbeds.


• Manage packaging and raw product issuance following FIFO.


• Use tracking forms and scanners to maintain traceability of materials.


• Work around equipment and machinery safely.


• Adhere to policies and SOPs related to SQF standards.


• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Experience

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.


• Previous forklift experience preferred.


• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in outdoor environments exposed to weather, and inside the plant where temperatures average 34°F. Exposure to concentrated chlorine and ammonia. Wet surfaces. Employees must wear protective gear. Able to lift up to 50 lbs unaided, and 20 lbs overhead. Sitting in a forklift for most of the workday. Walking, standing, reaching, bending, and repetitive hand movements may be required.
