Job summary

Rand Whitney Industries in Boylston, MA is seeking a dedicated forklift operator for the second shift. You will operate a forklift, inspect equipment daily, locate stock before runs, and move materials to and from storage areas and machines to support the production line.

The role requires three years of forklift experience, the ability to read factory masters, and a strong emphasis on safety. You will help maximize equipment utilization, follow the production schedule, and document required

Qualifications

  • Three years of forklift experience required.
  • Experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience in corrugated industry preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
  • Knowledge of equipment design and capabilities for efficient operation.
  • Knowledge of layouts, production specs, and product quality specs.
  • Excellent team-building and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to safety to prevent injuries; maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ability to use warehouse scanners.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift safely and be qualified to operate it.
  • Complete forklift inspection forms daily and after changes.
  • Locate stock before runs.
  • Follow and optimize the daily production schedule.
  • Deliver stock to machines safely and on time; complete paperwork.
  • Complete reports such as Production Data and Safety Data.
  • Maximize equipment utilization by running at capacity.
  • Handle special projects as required by the business.
  • Protect confidential and privacy information per policy.

Job Location: Rand Whitney Industries Boylston MA - Boylston, MA 01505, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $28.15 - $32.70 Hourly, Job Shift: Second Shift, Job Category: Manufacturing, Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operation and care of forklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate the forklift.
  • Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
  • Locate stock before the start of the run.
  • Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
  • Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on time. Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.
  • Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPPA.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry preferred. Three years of forklift experience required.
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
  • Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can translate into efficient operation.
  • Working knowledge of layouts, production specifications and product quality specifications.
  • Excellent team building and interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe WORK ENVIRONMENT. Ability to use warehouse scanners

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Required to maintain a current Forklift License
  • Required to maintain a valid driver’s license
