Job summary

Maersk Logistics & Services USA, Inc. in Baytown, TX seeks a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role supports loading and unloading, uses forklifts and pallet jacks, and ensures a safe, efficient receiving and shipping process.

You will read manifests, stage freight, and assist drivers while maintaining OSHA guidelines and a strong attention to detail. Native English required; overtime and occasional weekends may apply.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment.
• Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks is required.
• Must read and follow work instructions accurately in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Utilize manifest to pull routes, stage freight, and assist drivers with loading/unloading.
• Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently; perform material handling tasks.
• Identify and annotate overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following TSA and OSHA guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday from 4:00am to 2:30pm

The Forklift Operator is in charge of loading & unloading materials utilizing a hand truck, reach truck,and/or forklift. They are to maintain a clean and safe work environment and identify any discrepancies in receiving loads against manifest.

Essential Functions

• Utilizing manifest to pull route, stage freight, and assist drivers in loading and unloading trucks
• Forklift experience
• Material handling may include one or more of the following: picking, packing, scanning, kitting (asapplicable), counting products, and other like dutiesmust ensure timeliness, packaging, and systems work is completed accurately.
• Identifying and annotating overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D)
• Safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
• Read and follow detailed and defined instructions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure a safe and secure work environment, including all TSA and OSHA guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Competencies

• Must be able to use forklifts, pallet jacks, and banding/shrink-wrap material
• Experience using an RF scan gun is required
• Previous forklift certifications preferred
• Must be able to work overtime as needed, occasional weekends
• Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions well
• Must have the ability to work well with others
• High attention to detail required
• Must have the ability to work well with others with little supervision
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. unassisted
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English

Experience

• Previous warehouse experience preferred - 1 year experience

This position requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Position requires employees to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, use hands, reach, bend and lift objects above their head. Employees must be able to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds unassisted and use pallet jacks and forklifts.

Pay Range

$19.00 - $20.40 per hour

• The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
