Job Description

M-F 6:30am-3pm. Pay is $18-$20 depending on experience. This candidate must have a forklift certification, be able to work in an ambient temperature warehouse, attention to detail, pass a background check and drug screen. Previous warehouse food storage experience is a plus.

A warehouse material handler is responsible for working through the day-to-day operations on the warehouse floor, including shipping/receiving, inventory movement and order picking. The material handler must be a team player who works with a sense of urgency, has an eye for detail and takes the initiative to identify and solve problems.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Comply with all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), successfully complete all training requirements. Comply with federal, state and local regulations as they apply to our warehouse operation.
  • Follow quality standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Receive inbound loads according to the schedule issued by management.
  • Properly secure trailer/container before unloading.
  • Examine trailer/container for any defects.
  • Completing all required inbound paperwork.
  • Report any discrepancies before releasing driver.
  • Sign required BOL for shipper.
  • Receive and process inbound stock replenishment orders.
  • Enter required data in the WMS (Warehouse Management System).
  • Supervise unloading personnel.
  • Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to the schedule supplied by management.
  • Verify product and pallet integrity.
  • Confirm product counts.
  • Prepare shipment according to shippers’ guidelines.
  • Apply labels, placards, packing list, etc.
  • Complete proper shipping paperwork.
  • Report any discrepancies.
  • Confirm trailer/container integrity before loading.
  • Properly secure trailer/container before loading.
  • Enter required data in the WMS.
  • Perform inventory controls and maintain a high standard of quality throughout the facility.
  • Keep a clean and safe work environment.
  • Report safety issues to management.
  • Utilize space to meet optimal efficiency.
  • Assist supervising Warehouse Associate I personnel.
  • Assist supervising loading personnel.
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervision and coworkers.
Qualifications

Preferred:

  • High school diploma
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Can work without supervision
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
  • Experience with standard office equipment
  • Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment. Conducts safety and equipment checks daily.
  • Operates machinery such as banding, taping, and sealing
  • Follows all safety procedures. Actively works to improve individual and center safety record
  • Actively works for continuous quality improvement
  • Identifies and implements continual improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, team, and company.

Additional Information: All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. This job operates in a warehouse environment. At times, it may be very hot and can get cold due to the climate. There is forklift traffic in all areas in the warehouse.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
