Job summary

20 Saia Motor Freight Line LLC is actively seeking a forklift mechanic to maintain, repair, and inspect forklifts and related equipment across our fleet, ensuring safe, reliable operation.

You will troubleshoot engines, perform routine service, and monitor parts inventory. A high school diploma or GED and legal work status in the United States are required; forklift experience is preferred.

Position Summary

Supports the maintenance, repairs, and inspections of forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds propane and diesel forklift engines.
• Diagnoses failures and maintains all systems and parts associated with forklifts.
• Uses hydraulic jacks to gain access to the underside of the units for maintenance and repairs.
• Conducts regular inspections of forklifts to identify any issues.
• Performs routine maintenance on forklifts such as oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, and battery maintenance.
• Monitors and manages parts inventory levels and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
• Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language in order to perform the various tasks of the job, including but not limited to: converse with co-workers and members of the general public; understand oral and written instructions as well as governmental regulations; respond to questions and inquiries from management and government representatives; and accurately review and complete various documents, reports and records required of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of forklift mechanic experience.
• Proficiency in diagnostic software.

Work Conditions and Physical Demands

Pay Rate

Pay Rate: $33.75 - $38.50 per hour, based on experience.
