Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions is seeking a Diesel Truck/Tractor, Trailer and forklift mechanic in Morrisville, PA, to maintain and repair MEI's fleet of forklifts, tractors, and trailers. The role supports preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and component upgrades while ensuring safety and reliability across the fleet.

The candidate will conduct inspections, perform test drives, document services, and contribute to cost control and uptime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years proven fleet mechanic experience on heavy equipment and vehicles.
• Minimum 1 year of intermediate Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform mid-level mechanic work on diesel vehicles, routine PM service, brake service and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect and diagnose vehicle condition, identify worn parts and perform repairs.
• Operate equipment safely and maintain records of services and repairs.
• Keep shop stocked and maintain preventive maintenance schedules; assist with upgrades and winterization.

Position Summary:

Diesel Truck/Tractor, Trailer and forklift mechanic providing maintenance for MEI fleet of forklifts (6k lb. to Versa Lift 60/80k) Peterbilt and KW tractors and Landoll/KS RGN flatbed trailers.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mid-level mechanic work on diesel vehicles, routine PM service, brake service and hydraulic systems.
• Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests,identifying worn and damaged parts.
• Basic knowledge of operating equipment (Forklifts, man lifts, mobile platform lifts, etc.)
• Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
• Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives,adjusting controls and systems.
• Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for extensive and complex repairs.
• Contains costs by using warranty,evaluating service and parts options.
• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
• Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and differentrequests;exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area daily and/or when.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education):

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum two (2) years proven fleet mechanic experience (Heavy Equipment and Vehicles)
• Minimum of 1year of intermediate skills working in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications (Experience, Skills, and Education)

• Construction industry experience
• Ability to use precision measuring tools and equipment,hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
• Rigging experience

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

The General Foreman is subject to possible exposure to extreme year-round outdoor environmental conditions and may also be subject to working weekends and holidays.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; may be exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration, and high levels of noise.
