Job summary

Vinmar International is seeking a skilled Industrial Forklift Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Belmont, North Carolina. The role focuses on inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining forklifts and material-handling equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of forklift repair experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read manuals and schematics.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience repairing forklifts or similar equipment.
Ability to read service manuals, schematics and technical documentation.
Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Valid driver’s license required.
Forklift certification or formal technical training is a plus.
Welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing on forklifts and material-handling equipment.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel-system problems.
Repair and replace engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, hydraulics, batteries, tires, and other components.
Troubleshoot electrical systems, including wiring, starters, alternators, and controls.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure equipment meets company and manufacturer requirements.
Maintain accurate service and repair records.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
Communicate repair needs and equipment conditions with supervisors and operations personnel.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all OSHA, company, and equipment manufacturer safety procedures.
Perform other maintenance duties as assigned
