Summary

The Forklift/Loader will palletize products, shrink wrap pallets, and load products onto trucks. The loader may be required to load trailers by hand from the conveyor or using a Powered Industrial Truck.

Shift

Monday - Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM with occasional overtime (including Saturdays).

Pay

$16.00 per hour

Primary Responsibilities
  • Loading and unloading product in an efficient, accurate, and safe manner
  • Moving product to storage areas with proper equipment and efficiently stack and store the product in the appropriate area
  • Maneuvering a forklift and/or pallet jack through limited space areas; verifying counts and products shipped/received
  • Operating specific material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required
  • Checking or counting products for accuracy and/or damage and infestation
  • Operating radio frequency terminals to ensure accurate local inventories
  • Picking and entering correct data to properly create advance shipment notifications for customers as required
  • Will be required to manually case pick orders using a walkie rider on a frequent basis
  • Maintains an attitude which consistently represents the organizational culture, including: the mission, vision and core attributes
  • Understand, support and execute all work in a safe manner using the established procedures, methods and safe working requirements
  • Implements and maintains department policies and standards
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One (1) year related experience involved in performing work in a warehouse
  • Must maintain a working environment that is safe for all employees and comply with any facility safety standards
  • Responsible for keeping the work area clean and free of any safety hazards at all times
  • Must wear appropriate attire for warehouse setting as described in employee handbook
  • Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PPT, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to either stand or sit for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, push, pull, reach, grab, turn, twist, and/or stoop
  • Ability to grab small parts or hand tools with hands
Physical Requirements
  • Required to sit, talk or hear; frequently required to use hands to grip or feel; and occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Vision and depth perception suitable for use of utilizing machinery and/or a computer
  • Manual dexterity suitable for use of utilizing machinery and/or a computer
  • Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes which permits the employee to work in a warehouse
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-75 lbs
  • Ability to sit and stand up to 20-70% of the time comfortably, with or without reasonable accommodation
Working Conditions
  • Must be comfortable working in a complex production machining and assembly environment
  • The working area is primarily in a manufacturing environment located around machines and heavy equipment such as a forklift or pallet operator
  • Operation of the machine requires working with, and coming into contact with, various materials and substances.
  • Willingness to wear finger cots, masks, and/or safety vest
  • Working temperatures may vary from hot, cold, humid, wet or dry
  • Working hours may be extended and weekends may be required in order to meet manufacturing needs
