Job summary

The AMES Companies in Florida Ocala is seeking a forklift operator to move, stock, and count merchandise using a forklift, electric pallet jack, reach truck and RF scanner. You will cross-train in unloading, put away, picking, replenishing and loading while maintaining inventory accuracy.

This role requires ability to lift up to 55 lbs, pass industrial lift truck certification, and work safely in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of inventory software and OSHA standards is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School or GED recommended.
• Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems.
• Knowledge of RF Scanner.
• Able to push, pull, lift 55 lbs continuously throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Unload inbound shipments and move product to storage locations.
• Efficiently stock and store merchandise in appropriate areas.
• Loading, unloading, moving, stocking and staging products and materials using a forklift, reach truck, walkie, or other material handling equipment.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment ensuring the exact number and types of product is loaded.
• Keep appropriate records and reports for inventory accuracy.
• Comply with all OSHA regulations and MSDS standards.
• Report quality variances.
• Maintain the facilities equipment and materials in a neat clean orderly fashion.
• Assist in physical inventories.
• Conduct operations in a manner promoting safety.
• Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following traveler packet.
• Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips and other fasteners.
• May work on a line or in a cell where tasks and product may vary.
