Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a dockworker to load/unload freight using forklift and manual methods at our service center in Toledo, OH. You will strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage, and accurately record freight conditions on arrival.

Pre/post-shift equipment checks and consistent attendance are required. The role requires lifting 70 lbs or more, willingness to work all shifts including overtime, and compliance with safety policies.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be 17+ years of age
• Experience in transportation industry preferred
• Forklift operation experience or certification preferred
• Must be able to lift 70 lbs or more
• Able to work all shifts, overtime and weekends
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Properly load and unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand
• Strap, brace and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting
• Record condition of freight on arrival at service center
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspection of dock equipment
• Maintain regular attendance and dependability
• Follow safety rules and company policies; communicate effectively with team
