Our Material Handling Group is seeking a full-time Forklift Field Service Technician / Mechanic reporting to our Lewiston, ME branch. This is a first shift, M-F, hourly position (no flat rate!). Technicians are provided a company service van (driven home, not left at shop) and a fuel card. Responsibilities include:

• Performing preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Diagnosing and repairing customer equipment
• Completing repairs efficiently and professionally
• Providing exceptional customer service
• Working independently
• Managing company vehicle and on-board parts inventory
• Performing other duties as assigned
• Maintaining consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality

Qualifications:

• Experience in forklift repair, military, guard, or reserve with MOS or NEC codes such as 63B, 63H, 63S, 63W, 63Y, 91B, 91H, 91L, 91M, or CM is highly desired
• Knowledge of electric schematics and ICE engines
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Own tools
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and reports
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Regularly standing, walking, using hands; frequently talking/hearing; occasionally sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling
• Lifting up to 10 pounds regularly, 11-25 pounds frequently, and over 26 pounds occasionally
• Work near moving mechanical parts and outdoors in various weather conditions
