Job summary

Nucor Corporation is seeking a Material Handler in Lewisville, TX to operate a sit-down forklift and combi-lift in a fast-paced production environment. You will read schedules, load/unload trucks, and participate in receiving while maintaining strict safety and housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities include processing paperwork, delivering materials, stacking, and ensuring accurate packaging and staging for loading. Prior shipping demands may require flexible hours to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license provided or required.
• 2–3 years of experience operating a sit-down forklift.

Responsibilities

• Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine materials needed and priority.
• Load and unload trucks based on load sheet, outdoors in all weather.
• Participate in receiving raw materials and warehouse parts per the purchasing team.
• Collect and deliver materials with safety practices.
• Stack materials in storage areas and load shipments in trailer.
• Ensure bundles are accounted for, identified, and staged for loading.
• Complete related paperwork and records.
• Perform other material handling duties as assigned.
• Flexibility to work hours based on shipping demands.

Basic Job Functions:

The material handler must be comfortable operating forklift and combi-lift in a fast-paced production environment. Must be able to communicate effectively with the team to accomplish all production and shipping goals. This individual will be responsible for daily preventative maintenance of the forklift they are using. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Read production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
• Must load and unloads trucks based on load sheet, working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Participates in the receiving process of all raw materials and warehouse parts as prescribed by the purchasing team.
• Collects and delivers a wide variety of materials, adhering to good safety practices in carrying out duties.
• Stacks materials in storage areas and loads shipments in trailer.
• Assure all bundles of material are accounted for, properly packaged, identified, and staged for loading.
• Process and complete all related paperwork.
• Will perform other material handling duties in other departments as assigned.
• Ability to work flexible hours based on shipping demands is required

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• 2-3 years of experience operating a sit-down forklift

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior shipping and/or receiving experience.
• Experience driving a combi-lift
