Job summary

DSV - Global Transport and Logistics is seeking an Inventory Control Associate to operate material handling equipment and manage receipts, shipments, and counts. You will support supervisors in maintaining facility quality and safety while meeting performance targets.

The role involves cross‑functional teamwork, data entry, and daily reporting. A forklift certificate and at least 6 months in logistics are required, with flexible shifts and the ability to lift 21–50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 6 months experience in a logistics, distribution, or related environment.
  • Able to operate MHE.
  • Forklift training program completed.
  • Comfortable working in unregulated warehouse temperatures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate warehouse inventory.
  • Direct customer interface to answer questions and resolve issues.
  • Return material from customer to factory.
  • Transfer material to the appropriate area and relocate material to maintain inventory range and locations.
  • Use all equipment safely.
  • Operate autonomously while reporting progress and issues to supervisor/management.
  • Follow company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate records and reports to ensure inventory control and security. Conduct physical inventory as required and support daily/monthly cycle counts.
  • Perform safety audits per operation requirements. Report and correct unsafe operations.
  • Participate in daily start‑up and staff meetings as required. Assist supervision as needed.
  • Use PC skills for e‑mail and generating reports as required.
  • Initiate actions to prevent non‑conformities and recommend solutions through the appropriate channels.
  • Review/investigate inbound and/or outbound issues including unloading, checking, stacking, storing, order pulling, staging, labeling, and loading.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area and perform housekeeping audits.

Open schedules: 1st shift 5:00 am – 1:45 pm and 1st shift 6:00 am – 2:45 pm

Position Summary

The Inventory Control Associate operates material handling equipment (MHE) to move, locate, stack, and count goods. Responsibilities include computer data entry for receipts, shipments, and inventory maintenance, and assisting the supervisor or manager in maintaining facility compliance with quality standards. Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality.

Site‑Specific Duties
  • Assist leadership as needed.
  • Work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required.
  • Participate in cross‑training activities to support multiple departments.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 6 months experience in a logistics, distribution, or related environment.
  • Ability to operate MHE.
  • Comfortable working in unregulated warehouse temperatures ranging from mild to moderate.
  • Completion of a forklift training program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–3 years’ experience working in an inventory department.
  • 1–3 years forklift experience.
  • Current or prior MHE certification.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience with RF scanners and WMS functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Adaptability to a fast‑paced work environment.
Physical Demands

Occasionally: Hand & finger manipulation, sitting, handling product and/or packaging materials.
Frequently: Bending.
Constantly: Walking and standing.
Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 21–50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.

Work Environment

Low to moderate noise levels; rare exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
