Job summary

DSV - Global Transport and Logistics in USA, Burbank is seeking a Warehouse Associate to operate forklifts and related equipment for shipping, receiving, and picking. You will count, inspect, and report damages while maintaining safe and efficient operation across shifts.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, scanning, stacking, replenishing, and ensuring quality. The role requires forklift training, MHE proficiency, basic computer skills, and a commitment to safety and company policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 6 months of logistics/distribution experience.
  • Able to operate material handling equipment.
  • Satisfactory forklift training completion.
  • Able to work in warehouse temperatures.
  • Basic math and computer skills; RF scanning knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Load outbound shipments using gas or electric forklifts according to SOPs.
  • Unload inbound shipments and move, replenish, and store products.
  • Accurately pick orders and stage them per client requirements.
  • Verify products meet quality standards and report damages.
  • Follow safety protocols and OSHA/MSDS standards at all times.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and report issues.

Time Type: Full Time

Shift: Team 1A: Sunday - Tuesday, alternating Wednesday every other week. 2:30am - 3pm; Team 1B: Thursday - Saturday, alternating Wednesday every other week. 2:30am - 3pm; Team 2B: Thursday - Saturday, alternating Wednesday every other week. 2:30pm - 3am

Position Summary

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for operating a forklift and other material handling equipment for the purpose of shipping, receiving, and picking. Activities may include but are not limited to loading or unloading, scanning, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product. This individual is also responsible for counting and inspecting product and notifying leadership when there are damages or discrepancies. These Associates are accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and will be expected to perform all duties as assigned. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Shipping Responsibilities
  • Use a gas or electric powered forklift to load outbound shipments, move product, and stack products or materials. Load orders according to the appropriate doors and trailers efficiently and accurately. All shipping functions processed as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
Receiving Responsibilities
  • Use a gas or electric powered forklift to unload inbound shipments, move product, replenish, stack and store products or materials. Locate and place products in the appropriate storage areas efficiently and accurately. All receiving functions processed as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
Picking Responsibilities
  • Use a gas or electric powered forklift to accurately pick orders to fulfill client demands. Pick products and stage in the appropriate areas efficiently and accurately. Stack, package, band, shrink wrap, and label product(s) as determined by client requirements. All picking functions processed as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
Quality Control Responsibilities
  • Use appropriate documentation to ensure that all products and orders are received, handled, and shipped correctly. Verify that products and/or orders meet quality standards, including reporting any damages or discrepancies. Stack, package, shrink wrap, and label product(s). Processed as defined by the Standard Operating Procedures.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
  • Execute all safety protocols and accomplish job tasks with a focus on promoting safety. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility and work area. Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
Equipment Operation
  • Operate sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, Aisle Master or pallet jack.
  • Maintain equipment uptime, report problems, and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment daily.
  • Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods.
  • Maintain an active forklift certification.
Maintenance
  • Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
Other Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntary.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • None
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 6 months experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
  • Able to operate MHE.
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate.
  • Basic computer skills, RF scanners, WMS functions.
  • English (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance; adapt to change in fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-3 years’ experience working in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
  • 1-3 years forklift experience.
  • Current or prior MHE certification.
Physical Demands
  • Occasionally handle/fingering, sitting.
  • Frequently bending.
  • Constantly walking and standing.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and push/pull 21-50 pounds; reach above shoulder, outward, squat, or kneel.
Work Environment

Rare exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; low to moderate noise level.

Compensation

Expected base pay range: $21.50 an hour. Actual compensation determined based on job-related factors including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.
