Job summary

Fresh Express in Illinois is seeking a Warehouse Associate to move materials using a forklift, walker or hand jack, and to pick and load orders via Voice system. This role requires following SOPs and maintaining a safe, efficient workflow in a fast paced warehouse environment.

You will maintain clean dock areas and communicate with supervisors, clerks, production, and QA as needed, while ensuring overall warehouse safety and organization.

Qualifications

• Must have basic math skills and be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Polish is preferred.
• Forklift certification is strongly preferred.
• High School Diploma is highly desirable.
• Food industry experience is a plus.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience meeting customer expectations and Voice order picking is a plus.
• Experience in a cold environment is beneficial.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision and prior warehouse experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year forklift, warehouse, or cold environment experience.

Job description

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for using a forklift, walker or hand jack to move materials within the warehouse, which may include raw product, dry goods, or finished goods.

This position is responsible for following proper procedures for product rotation and flow through the warehouse. The incumbent is also responsible for all documents and procedures required for this function. He or she will also perform the task of picking and loading all orders via the Voice system. Utilization of this system is designed to limit discrepancies making their way to the customer. Incumbent will be proficient in the usage and troubleshooting of the Voice system to achieve this goal. The Warehouse Associate will be asked to maintain a safe level of speed when picking the assigned orders. The Warehouse Associate will be asked to either stage the order in an assignment area on the warehouse floor or to load the order directly into an assigned trailer.

Schedule:

5 pm to 3:30 am with Saturday RDO (1 opening)

5 pm to 3:00 am with Tuesday RDO (1 opening)

7 pm to 5: 00am with Tuesday RDO(1 opening)

Day to day Responsibilities:

• Inspect powered jacks/powered trucks for operating conditions and safety

• Use Voice system to pick and load orders

Requirements

• Must be able to work weekends and holidays
• Must possess basic math skills
• Bilingual English/Spanish and/or English/Polish
• Forklift certification strongly preferred
• High School Diploma highly desirable
• Food industry experience a plus
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Experience meeting or exceeding high internal/external customer expectations
• Past experience working in a Voice order picking environment
• Past experience working in a cold environment
• Self-motivated individual who requires minimal supervision and direction
• Previous Warehouse experience strongly preferred
• Minimum of one year forklift experience, one year warehouse, or one year working in a cold environment
