The Forklift Driver- Material Handler will use a forklift, walker, hand jack, or similar equipment moves material within the assigned warehouse(s). May be assigned the movement of raw product, dry goods, or finished goods as needed. This position is responsible for following proper procedures for product rotation and flow through the assigned warehouse(s). Also responsible for all documents and procedures required for this function.

Job Function Statements - Essential Functions

• Inspect powered jacks/powered trucks for operating conditions, support traceability by barcode scanning and safety.
• Uses a variety of support documents or equipment to assist with the assignments such as handheld readers, voice notification devices, paper documents, etc. to receive and process assignments.
• Compliance to SOP's, GMPs, Housekeeping, Safety, and all other FE policies.
• Accurate, timely and efficient workflow for all assignments.
• Perform all documentation required for function being performed.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area, including all dock areas, raw and finished coolers and PPE.
• Communicate with supervisors, clerks, production, QA and others as needed.
• GMP and HACCP knowledge & understanding of the Food Safety Quality statement.
• Forklift Drivers are responsible for knowing and understanding how Food Safety impacts their position. This Includes:
• Forklift checklists
• Inbound/Outbound trailer and load inspections (when applicable)
• FIFO/FEFO Procedures
• Traceability Procedures (specifically as they apply to warehouse, i.e. -Lot Code Numbers and related documentation)
• Proper Disposal or Donation of D&D Product (when applicable)
• Inbound/Outbound Seal Procedure as outlined by Transportation Manual (When applicable).
• Conduct inspections with Warehouse Leads to verify the quality of implemented procedures regarding food safety.
• Ensure required flow of material through assigned operation.
• Employees may infrequently be assigned to perform other tasks on a temporary basis." During the temporary assignment, the employee must still maintain compliance with all plant policies but will not be disciplined for productivity- throughput performance."
• Responsible for actively supporting the other members of the employee's work team including assisting with cross-training, new-hire/buddy assignments, and process support during breaks, meal periods, and other staff coverage as needed.
  
  

Qualifications/Skills

• Certified in the operation of powered jacks/powered trucks.
• Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift (8 hours or more), perform repetitive motions throughout the shift such as push/pull/lift, bend continuously through the shift, lift up to 35 pounds, and be able to climb stairs or step up onto a platform several times throughout the shift.
• Must be able to work 6 or more consecutive days including overtime, any shift, including late nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instruction.
• Working conditions include a cold atmosphere (30-34 degrees) wet surfaces and moderate to high noise levels.
