Job summary

RR Donnelley in Wisconsin is seeking a Warehouse Forklift Operator for 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM). Work 3 days one week and 4 days the next, with every other Saturday and Sunday. The pay ranges from $16.50 to $18.00 per hour.

You'll operate equipment to move finished product, stage and store inventory, and supply the Manufacturing Department with materials. Safety policies must be followed and housekeeping performed daily.

Qualifications

• Must know forklift dimensions (height, width, length) and load capacity.
• Able to determine doorway/aisle clearance for forklift operation.
• Knowledge of storage layout to locate items without detailed instructions.
• Skilled at maneuvering forklifts in tight spaces and congested areas.
• Greater knowledge than Hoist Operator 1 in handling controls.
• Must operate forklift controls precisely in narrow aisles, ramps, and in/around railroad cars.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to move finished product for shipping or storage.
• Supply Manufacturing Department with materials as needed.
• Stage product to be moved or shipped.
• Rack unused supplies and maintain inventory of type, amount and location of items.
• Transport and process manufacturing paper by-products.
• Empty trash hoppers and perform housekeeping duties as needed.
• Perform routine daily inspections on hoist and report maintenance needs.
• May include battery service duties such as inspecting, recharging and replacing batteries; lubricating moving parts.
• May include changing LP/Propane.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures including handling of hazardous waste; lockout-tagout rules; hearing/eye protection.
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Job Description

Available Shift:

1st Shift: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM

$16.50/hr to $18.00/hr

• May include battery service duties such as inspecting, recharging and replacing batteries of electrical leads and battery poles and lubricating truck's moving parts
• May include changing LP/Propane
• Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out-tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must know how high, wide, and long the fork lift truck and its load are, and how much the fork lift truck can lift
• Ability to identify how high and wide a doorway and an aisle must be to drive the fork lift truck and its load; how high and wide the shelf, bin, etc., must be to place the load; and how high the load must be lifted to reach the shelf or bin
• Knowledge of the layout of the storage area to be able to find and place items without need for detailed instructions
• Skilled in moving fork lift trucks about in places where there is very little room to stack or remove loads
• Greater knowledge and skill than Hoist Operator 1 in the handling of controls for driving fork lift and/or clamp trucks
• Must be skilled in handling controls for starting, stopping, backings, and driving fork lift trucks through narrow aisles in building, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, etc.; and, for lifting, lowering, and tilting forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate controls
• Must be able to recognize whether the fork lift truck is able to lift the load and whether the load is properly balanced.
