Job summary

Remedy Intelligent Staffing is seeking a Forklift Operator in Walford, IA for a temp-to-hire role. Duties include loading/unloading trucks and railcars, moving, stacking, and counting merchandise to meet safety and productivity standards. Shift is 7:00am–3:30pm with forklift experience required.

Pay is $19/hour, with responsibilities expanding to accurate inventory records and efficient order fulfillment. Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to perform basic math, and comfortable operating

Qualifications

• Prior experience driving a forklift and/or prior exposure to a warehouse environment preferred.
• Attention to detail and accuracy is required as it pertains to inventory transactions and ensuring inventory accuracy.
• Must be able to do basic math computation of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Basic PC skills.
• Must be able to maintain a high level of concentration while operating a forklift and documenting inventory transactions.
• Ability to solve problems including space utilization.

Responsibilities

• Unloads inbound shipments, verifying merchandise matches shipping documents and moves merchandise to storage.
• Picks orders and prepares for shipment, ensuring the exact number and type of product is ready for shipment.
• Properly loads shipments.
• Locates and re-locates merchandise for optimal space utilization and picking efficiency.
• Keeps accurate records of stock moves, receipts, and shipments for reporting.
• Operates warehouse equipment safely to prevent injuries and damage.
• Inspects forklifts daily and reports potential problems to supervisor/manager.
• Performs or assists in maintenance and sanitation to promote food safety in warehouse operations.
• Represents the client positively to potential employment candidates, customers, and community.

Overview

Forklift Operator opportunities in Walford, IA. This Temp to Hire position involves operating a forklift to load and unload trucks and railcars, moving, locating, stacking, and counting merchandise to meet company standards for safety, security, productivity, and food safety.

Shift/Hours: Forklift Hours: 7:00am – 3:30pm. Must have forklift experience.

Pay: Forklift $19/hour

Responsibilities

• Unloads inbound shipments, verifying merchandise matches shipping documents. Moves merchandise to storage, properly documenting put-away locations and reporting any shipment discrepancies.
• Picks orders and prepares for shipment, ensuring the exact number and type of product is ready for shipment.
• Properly loads shipments.
• Locates and re-locates merchandise, allowing for the best space utilization and picking efficiencies.
• Keeps accurate records of stock moves, receipts, and shipments for reporting to warehouse office personnel.
• Operates warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner to eliminate personal injuries, merchandise damage, and damage to the warehouse.
• Operates various types of attachments and equipment required to handle merchandise.
• Inspects forklifts daily to identify any potential problems with the equipment and reporting these potential problems to the Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager.
• Perform minor maintenance to forklifts that can be accomplished with the tools available, and the ability of the employee. Use of Forklift, Floor Scrubber, and Slipsheet is required.
• Performs or assists in building, grounds, and equipment cleaning. Understands the importance to participate in sanitation, pest control, and all other actions that promote food safety within the warehouse operation.
• Supports the company goals, mission, and growth by representing the client positively to potential employment candidates, customers, and community members when appropriate.
