Job summary

Transervice Logistics Inc. is seeking a Mechanic/Technician for forklift battery systems in a union shop. The role involves inspecting, testing and maintaining electric forklift batteries and chargers, performing preventive maintenance, and repairing components. Compensation ranges from $20.00 to $24.00 per hour based on experience.

You will document service history, follow OSHA/EPA safety protocols, and work with various teams to ensure reliable equipment and safety compliance across operations.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting, testing and diagnosing electric forklift batteries and chargers.
• Familiar with water, charging, cleaning, rotation and equalizing of batteries.
• Ability to document service history and inventory transactions accurately.
• Adherence to OSHA/EPA safety procedures when handling batteries and acids.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and diagnose electric forklift batteries and chargers.
• Perform preventive maintenance including watering, charging, cleaning, rotation and equalizing.
• Repair or rebuild batteries by replacing cells, connectors, cables and cases.
• Install/remove batteries using lifting equipment; service forklift units.
• Troubleshoot battery chargers and charging systems from schematics and manuals.
• Maintain battery/charger records and manage inventory transactions.
• Follow safety procedures for acid handling, PPE, ventilation, and spill response.
• Keep shop and service vehicle organized and compliant with safety standards.
• Communicate findings and recommended repairs to supervisors and customers.
