Job summary

Pratt Industries, Inc. is seeking a reliable team member to operate a forklift and baler, weighing and packaging recycled materials for shipment. You will input data accurately, perform basic maintenance, and ensure a clean, safe baler room.

The role requires attention to detail, strong math skills, and adherence to safety protocols. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of forklift experience, a HS diploma or GED, and a professional attitude toward coworkers and supervisors.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years of forklift experience required.
• Previous baler operator experience preferred.
• Professional attitude & conduct with coworkers and supervisors.
• Multi-task, interpersonal communication and time management skills.
• High degree of safety awareness and safety discipline.
• Adhere to Employee Handbook policies and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklift to pick up waste pallets and carts.
• Identify waste tickets and weigh units on the scale.
• Accurately input weights on tickets and baler summary sheets.
• Place waste into the baler and replace bale wire as needed.
• Troubleshoot baler issues promptly and safely.
• Maintain thorough housekeeping in the baler room and plant.
• Weigh recycled bale(s) and load onto trailer.
• Reconcile all work so it is ready for supervisor review.
