Job summary

Forte Opening Solutions is seeking dedicated forklift operators for a 2nd shift role in Wisconsin. You will drive a forklift across the plant floor, moving materials to storage areas and production stations while ensuring safety and accuracy. Overtime Fridays may apply if needed.

Qualifications include proven forklift experience, attention to detail, and HS diploma or GED. A valid forklift certification is preferred; background check and drug screen are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to lift/pull/push materials onto forks from elevated heights and move stock throughout the plant.
• Follow safety procedures including wearing a harness and adhering to PPE requirements.
• Read/interpret schedules and tickets; use measuring tape to 16th.
• Move materials to pallets or crates for storage or shipment; inspect for damages or shortages.
• Transport raw materials to production workstations and inspect machinery for safety.

Forte is in search of dedicated production workers/manufacturing workers who possess a commitment to excellence in safety, quality, customer service and the ability to contribute to a positive and productive teamwork environment!

You will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Your job will involve you driving around the plant floor and into storage areas to acquire material. You must be a responsible individual with great experience in driving industrial vehicles. The goal will be to ensure that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

This is a 2nd shift position, Monday-Thursday 3:25pm-1:55am, if overtime it will be on Fridays.

What You Will Do

• Forklift operating skills to lift/pull/push materials onto forks from elevated heights - navigates throughout plant, including populated and small areas.
• Performs safety procedures (including wearing and securing harness)
• Read/interpret schedules/tickets
• Use measuring tape - to 16th.
• Must have the ability to work/maneuver at elevated heights up to 20 ft.
• Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
• Transport raw materials to production workstations
• Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facility.

Occasional help on the production floor operating machines as trained.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements:

• Depth perception required.
• Climbing on and off the lift.
• Continuous exposure to jarring and driving over uneven pavement.
• Constantly getting on/off lift truck to manually lift/slide/flip door skins (max. 50 lbs.), bending, lifting, and twisting.
• Picking up materials and disposing as necessary.

What You Will Need

• Proven experience as forklift operator

• Valid certification to operate forklift preferred.
• Preferably one year experience in manufacturing setting working in a similar role.
• HS Diploma or GED equivalent
• Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
