Job summary

Advance Services, Inc. is hiring a Forklift Driver to operate electric or propane-powered equipment and move products through staging, production and shipping areas. You will collect supplies, rotate stock, unload packaging and maintain sanitation in a fast-paced warehouse.

Responsibilities include equipment inspection, safe handling of pallets, and adherence to safety regulations. This is a full-time, on-site role based in McAllen, TX, with comprehensive company benefits.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or 6–9 months related experience.
• Forklift Certification required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate regarding job and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Collect, rotate, dumps and stores raw product and transport pallets as required.
• Inspect equipment at start/end of shift and maintain sanitation in production areas.
• Move finished product from production to shipping areas and handle packaging materials.
• Operate forklift and assist with loading, unloading and inventory tasks.
• Follow safety rules and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Job description

The Forklift Driver will drive electric powered, or propane powered industrial truck with lifting devices such as a forklift to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, material, and equipment. This person will be responsible for obtaining and transporting proper packaging supplies to production staging area from warehouse storage, as well as transport pallets of finished product from production to shipping areas in a timely manner.JOB DUTIES:Collect, rotates, dumps and stores raw product into cull trailers, rotates stock in cold storage on rare occasion, inventories stock in cold storage, and accomplishes all other tasks requiring the use of specified heavy equipmentObtain supplies from warehouse storage racks for production and transport to appropriate staging areas as requiredRemove packing, banding and place in proper receptacles, remove empty pallets, cardboard packing, and strapping to the dumpster or other appropriate receptaclesTransport pallets of finished product from production to shipping areas with ForkliftInspect equipment at beginning and end of each shiftAt the end of the shift, responsible for removal of raw product and solid waste from food contact surface and properly clean and sanitize the production facility area/grounds and equipmentCover and protect sensitive equipment with canvas/plastic coverApply cleaning chemicals to all machineryUse centralized and/or portable foaming systemsHelp disassemble equipment.Apply heavy-duty chemicals to breakdown accumulated sugarsApply concentrated sanitizer to walls and overheadPerform other duties as assigned.REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Read, write and communicate as it relates to the job and safety regulations.Ability to use the equipment and tools used to perform the job.Ability to take direction from supervision.Good mathematical skills.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication/interpersonal skillsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High School/GED or six to nine months of experience in related field or combination of both education and experience?Forklift Certification?PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Previous experience using a warehouse management system which includes RF scan guns, VMU units, and handheld RF units?Knowledge of Red Prairie and WMS, preferred?PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to ascend and descend ramps, steps, ladders, stairs using three-point contact.Environment exposure_ hot/humid conditions (95 ° or above).Environmental exposure –cold/wet conditions (40 ° or below).Ability to work in warehouse/cold storage/shipping dock (34 degrees).Occasional exposure to environmental factors such as fumes, airborne particles and vibrations.Ability to lift, carry, push and/pull up to 50 lbs.; stand for prolonged periods of time; occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist; climb steps/stairs.Ability to use hands and arms to grasp, manipulate, and handle scanning objects in one position or in a repetitive motion for an extended period of time.?Why work for Advance Services, Inc.?Advance Services is for and about people; we are your employment specialists.
