Job summary

Northwest Hardwoods, Inc is seeking a forklift operator for 1st shift in Hamden, OH. Responsibilities include receiving and shipping wood products, pulling orders, and maintaining inventory with FIFO cycles.

Candidates should have forklift experience, safety certification, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while upholding quality and productivity standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to be flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Must work well as a team member.
  • Highly organized and proven communication skills.
  • Operate all assigned material handling equipment
  • Follow all NWH Standards for Lift Drivers
  • Manage complex workflows supporting production and shipping
  • Proper loading and unloading of inbound and outbound lumber
  • Proper storing following FIFO guidelines
  • Lead by example in safety, quality, and productivity
  • Train, coach, and validate other operators
  • Support audits, inventories, and CI initiatives
  • Collaborating with supervisors on workflow planning
  • Unload all OSP lumber off flatbeds
  • Receiving all inbound OSP lumber
  • Control GRN inventory
  • Snow removal and driveway repair
  • Load all containers with the shipper
  • Load one or both stackers infeed decks
  • Backup high lift driver as needed
  • Must have excellent attendance

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Receiving and shipping wood products (loading/unloading containers and flatbed trucks with forklift).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Forklift experience and or forklift safety certification
  • 3 to 5 years' experience operating larger lift Trucks
  • Forklift certification is preferred
  • Inventory management or WMS experience
