Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a forklift operator for a fast-paced food production facility. You will safely operate a forklift, load/unload products, and perform QA checks to prevent damage.

The role requires several years of warehouse experience, ability to work in 35–40°F, and 8–12 hour shifts. The position is in Britt, IA, with a 1st shift from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday, at $19.89 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move, load, and unload products.

Forklift Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operate forklift safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload products.
• Complete daily forklift inspections, identify defects, and remove equipment from service if necessary.
• Accurately ship and receive products, performing quality assurance checks to prevent damage.
• Monitor the warehouse floor for safety concerns or infractions and address issues promptly.
• Prepare and close doors following proper procedures.
• Collaborate closely with office staff to resolve discrepancies and verify Hot List loads.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and damage-free warehouse environment with pallets properly stored off the floor.
• Follow all safety protocols, GMPs, and company policies during operations.
• Complete all required documentation and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with inventory organization and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Forklift Requirements:

• Proven work history with several years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations.
• Ability to operate forklift equipment safely and competently.
• Capable of repetitive reaching, bending, and lifting 20-45 pounds regularly.
• Physical stamina to stand for 8–12-hour shifts, including working in temperatures of 35-40°F.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and office staff.
