Job summary

Kronospan in the United States is seeking a Fork Truck Operator to join our manufacturing and warehouse teams. You will safely load outbound trucks, unload materials, and move pallets, raw materials, and finished goods using various forklift sizes.

This role requires the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and efficiency on the plant floor.

Qualifications

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, stress, detail-oriented, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capable of working with diverse teams.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail-focused on the plant floor.

Responsibilities

  • Operate fork trucks of various sizes to load outbound trucks and unload materials.
  • Move pallets, raw materials, finished goods, and containers safely and efficiently.
  • Understand warehouse operations, storage locations, products, and processes.
  • Use scan guns or computer systems accurately to track material movement.
  • Collaborate with the Shipping department to meet goals and maintain safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe plant and warehouse; report issues promptly.
  • Communicate daily production notes with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Visually inspect incoming/outbound materials for damage and notify supervisors.

JOB PURPOSE

Operate a fork truck in a manufacturing/warehouse environment to safely load outbound trucks, unload incoming materials used in our process and move various materials including pallets, raw material, finished goods, containers (units), small parts, etc.

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate multiple sizes of fork trucks depending on job
  • Load and unload vans, flatbeds and containers in a timely and quality minded manner
  • Understand warehouse operations along with material storage locations, products and processes
  • Utilize scan guns or computer systems accurately to facilitate material movement
  • Work as a team to meet goals of the Shipping department and the organization
  • Perform all tasks associated with maintaining a clean and safe plant and warehouse
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers at all levels regarding daily production; utilize radio and appropriately communicate when needed
  • Responsible for the visual inspection of all raw and finished products being moved and/or loaded/unloaded onto trucks
  • Identify inbound or outbound damaged material and notify the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, Superintendent or Plant Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, stress, provide detailed work, sound reasoning, and meet required deadlines
  • The ability to be flexible in duties, analytical and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to be exceptionally self-motivated and directed, organized, and a keen attention to detail
  • The ability to work consistently on a concrete plant production floor and in multiple (hot, cold, dirty, etc.) environmental conditions
  • Good vision with or without corrective lenses; the ability to frequently bend, lift (minimum 50 lbs unassisted), sit or stand for extended periods of time, kneel and move for extended periods of time; the ability to have dexterity of hands and fingers to utilize appropriate equipment and tools
  • The ability to be available for on-call and periodic overtime
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous experience operating a Fork Truck preferred.
