Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Position requires the operator to be proficient in all warehouse functions. Responsible for safe and accurate loading of outbound trailers. Must configure load, pick and load product to achieve maximum trailer utilization in a cost-effective, productive manner. Ability to effectively load irregular-shaped packages to maximize trailer utilization has a direct effect on daily freight costs. Truck must be loaded to achieve zero damage during transit. Decision-making ability is critical. Position requires operation of handheld wireless computer terminals and/or truck-mounted terminals. Need to achieve corporate on-time customer satisfaction objectives.

Shift Details:

3rd Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:30 am.

PELLA CORPORATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Pass drug screen.
  • Pass pre-work ability screen.
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Pass pre-employment tests.
  • Pass vision screening.
  • Work in a team environment with the ability to communicate in a concise, polite, and respectful manner.
ENVIRONMENT:
  • Noise level requires hearing protection in designated areas.
  • Seasonal high temperatures and humidity.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work safely in a fast-paced, congested environment where completion of tasks is time-sensitive. Late completion affects customer satisfaction and profitability through penalties.
  • Move large containers with oversized products, often with restricted visibility, using PIV.
  • Unload inbound freight and accurately locate products within the warehouse.
  • Handle large and heavy products.
  • Main responsibility is loading outbound trailers.
  • May be assigned to other activities, including working in final assembly, to meet customer demands.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Lift up to 100 lbs. at waist level occasionally; up to 40 lbs. at shoulder level or above head occasionally when handling products.
  • Push or pull with up to 80 lbs. of force occasionally.
  • Maintain coordination with each hand during tasks.
  • Perform elevated work and stooping, kneeling, or squatting occasionally.
  • Reach forward and sideways frequently.
  • Stand and walk continuously during shifts.
  • Use close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision.
  • Perform repetitive tasks up to 10 hours per day.
