Job description

Join to apply for the Fork Truck Driver role at Pittsburgh Glass Works.

We have immediate openings at Vitro Automotive (formerly PGW) in Tipton, PA. This position works as a member of the Production Department and is responsible for transporting, staging, and loading glass and other materials.

Responsibilities include:

1. Keep proper glass stocked at the load stations.
2. Remove full racks of glass from the unload stations.
3. Set empty racks in place to keep the line running.
4. Set up finished stocked containers.
5. Set empty finished stock containers onto the packing stations.
6. Place starter tickets on finished stock containers when set onto the packing stations.
7. Remove finished stock containers, ticket, upend, close, and place in storage areas.
8. Keep paper, lash boards, and materials for closing containers stocked and ready.
9. Empty paper and scrap glass hoppers and manage scrap vinyl bins storage.
10. Inspect and pack glass into designated racks as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:

• $18.50 per hour with a $0.50 shift differential for night shifts.
• Day or night shifts available, with every other weekend off, 12-hour shifts.

Education / Experience:

• Forklift experience preferred but not required.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements, Safety, and Work Environment:

• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Work within industrial conditions, including extreme weather.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Push/pull, grip, reach, see, hear, speak.
• Sit or stand for extended periods.
• Inspect glass for defects and pack when assigned.
• Follow security and PPE procedures.
