Job summary

Allison Transmission in Lewisburg, TN is seeking a Fork Lift Operator to join our aluminum die casting manufacturing team. You will handle materials, operate forklift equipment in a busy warehouse, load/unload trailers, and ensure accurate scanning and documentation of shipments.

Ideal candidates can read, write and speak English, pass forklift testing, and perform daily housekeeping and 5S practices to keep a safe, efficient work environment. Overtime may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Experience operating a forklift in a warehouse environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and other warehouse machinery in a safe, efficient manner.
• Package, kit and/or assemble orders and materials; load/unload inbound/outbound trailers.
• Sign inbound and outbound shipping documents; ensure scanning is completed correctly.

Our scope includes full print to part engineering and strict process and quality control for delivering high quality, complex aluminum castings for our customers.Key Responsibilities:Perform the assigned tasks as described in the location's policies and procedures standards to include handling of materials within associated logical transactions.operate heavy machinery in confined areas.Package, kit and/or assemble orders and materials.Perform material moves with associated physical/logical transactions as required.Participate in daily shift meetings and other team activities for the purpose of self-improvement and improving warehouse operations and related business functions.Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers.Sign inbound and outbound shipping documents.Ensure all scanning is completed correctly.Ensure facility is secure at end of shift; investigate/resolve scanning issues and housekeeping.Perform picking and packing duties.Check for evidence of product or container damage.Performs housekeeping duties for assigned area operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery.Perform basic operator maintenance (grease equipment, clean filters, change small fittings).Sort materials by type and grade.Perform daily preventative maintenance.5S.Overtime as required.Other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead.Qualifications:Must have experience working in a warehouse environmentExperience:Forklift experience preferred, but not required.Must have experience working in a warehouse environment.Ability to stand for long periods of time.Ability to read, write, and speak English.Must be able to pass power lift equipment testing.Safety:Abide by all EHS guidelinesTravel or Physical Demands:Must be able to work in hot/cold environment.Essential for Direct RolesOffice/Manufacturing Up to 100%Sitting Up to 100%Walking Up to 25%Standing Up to 25%Climbing Up to 50%Kneeling Up to 25%Kneel/Crouch Up to 25%Pulling Up to 25 %Lifting up to 50 lbs.Travel requirements NoneEEOC statement required provisionsAllison Transmission is an equal opportunity employer.
